The Story
Mikaëlle Aimée is a Haitian-American singer, songwriter and guitarist based in New York. She started out in Haiti in 2009, playing the variety shows Ayiti Deploge and Havana Guitar Night, then spent three years as lead singer of the jazz band Kayel during its residency at Quartier Latin in Pétion-Ville. From 2012 to 2014 she also hosted the television show Metro Night on Tele Metropole.

Her career in the United States began in 2014. She has since played all five boroughs of New York, cities from Connecticut to Miami, and Spain, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. In 2018 she reached the semi-finals of Amateur Night at the Apollo. Her singles are "Lay Me Down" (2019) and "Adye" (2021), and she is finishing her first EP, Hope in Disguise.

In 2025 she created Soirée Sérénade, an evening of Haitian folk songs alongside French chansonettes, bossa nova and jazz. She describes it as an afternoon spent listening to the radio in Haiti, with the world converging in the living room. She also played Umbrella Fest 2025 on Camano Island, Washington.
