The Story
Frequent Flyer Society formed during COVID, when the world had shut down and nobody was going anywhere — which made the name feel exactly right for three people who all love to fly and travel. Maarius81, Rob Banks, and Nironic spent two years on weekly video calls together, making music remotely, gradually figuring out what the three of them sounded like — all while Maarius and Nironic had never been in the same room, having somehow never crossed paths in person despite years of shared circles and mutual collaborators. In January 2023, Nironic flew into SeaTac and drove straight to Camano Island with Rob, where the three of them spent a weekend together for the first time. They made eight original songs. Three are out now — Crystal Cobwebs, The Ballad of Bruce the Frog, and Slow Faucet — and the rest are on their way.
