Rajnii describes Dear Life life like this:
"Dear Life is an ode to life, giving thanks in advance for blessings seen and unseen. It expresses a faith in the divine purpose of life's unfolding paths and a strong commitment to honor this way of seeing and being in the world for future generations."
The song was recorded in 2024 when Rajnii came out for a brief visit to Seattle. Maarius81 hosted us both and highly encouraged us to take advantage of studio time he'd booked the next day, and record a few songs.
Because of Rajnii's diligent writing practice, he had literally hundreds--if not thousands--of lyrics, hooks, and poems in reserve. I had been sitting on a fair number of beats, myself, so the three of us got together in Maarius81's living room and listened to beats and lyrics and brainstormed about what worked together best.
We ended up recording seven cuts the next day and this one is particularly special. It articulates something about gratitude and intention that I seldom hear in music, and it remains humble. Rajnii doesn't deny that doubts can visit us now and again--he calls them out and offers a solution "Out 'em with pen--faith works louder than them".
